• HOUSE OF HORRORS: Snakes, Reptiles Dirty Diapers Land Mother In Legal Trouble For Mistreating Children

Police have arrested a young South Carolina mother Tuesday after her child was found unresponsive in a home full of feces, dirty diapers and dead animals.

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office arrested Savanah Morgan, 25, a pregnant woman whose home had 88 animals and three children living inside, WBTW reports. Eighty percent of the animals were dead.

Police arrived to a home emitting a foul odor and full of animals, mostly dead, some in cages and others in plastic bins. Soiled diapers lay on the floor.

“I’ve never seen anything like it in my 20 years doing this,” Lt. Scott Franklin told Fox Carolina.

Police say the home had three dogs, six dead tarantulas, four bearded dragons, two which were dead, four snakes, 10 dead pythons, two turtles, 11 dead gerbils and 48 dead rats.

Morgan is charged with unlawful neglect, animal cruelty, and bodily injury to a child. The injured child is still in the hospital and the others have been taken from the mother by Social Services.

The dogs were taken to an animal shelter.

“Most of our officers probably were faced with something last night that they probably have not seen in their careers. It was a very sad situation to see something like this,” Laurens Sheriff Ricky Chastain told Fox Carolina.
