Public opinion polls are a dime a dozen. But every so often a poll produces some stark and comment-worthy results.
According to a new CNN/ORC poll, 52 percent of Americans say they want Congress to kill the horrific nuclear agreement recently reached between the U.S. and Iran. Only 44 percent support the deal that many credits believe only stalls Iran’s goal of obtaining a nuclear warhead. What probably keeps Obama up at night are the 55 percent of independents and the 39 percent of Democrats who want Congress trash the deal.
The intense opposition to Obama’s Iran deal is unique because it exists despite the Obama media showering endless amounts of undue praise on it.
The new CNN poll also shows 59 percent of Americans describing Obama’s economy as poor. A puny 41 percent think the economy is booming.
What’s more, two months ago 76 percent of Democrats said the economy is doing good; that number has fallen dramatically to just 58 percent.
Obama’s overall approval sits at just 49 percent. Normally I would say that number would wise. But Obama’s economy coupled with his terrible nuke deal with Iran could drag down his approval rating.
Honestly, though, the only number I care about is the days until he leaves office.
