• Man With Arsenal In His Car Arrested After Asking Cop For Directions To The White House

A Tennessee man was arrested in Washington, D.C. with a load of guns and hundreds of bullets after he stopped his truck and asked a police officer to direct him to the White House.

The man, Steve Oney, told police he was moving and just passing through the city when he got out of his truck on Independence Avenue and asked an officer to point him in the direction of the White House, The Washington Post reports.

It was around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning when Oney decided he wanted to go sightseeing with two rifles, a .44-caliber revolver and a 12 inch knife in his car. Oney also ha a propane tank and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, according to WBIR.com.

The officer Oney stopped to ask for directions noticed the box of ammunition and propane tank in the back of Oney’s truck and asked him if he had any weapons. (RELATED: Report: Man Trying To Fly Drone Arrested Near White House)

Oney told the police officer he had two guns in the front of the truck and one in the back, though none of them were loaded.

Police arrested Oney for carrying an unregistered weapon. He was released from jail on Wednesday on the condition that he cannot possess any weapons and that he stay away from the U.S. Capitol. (RELATED: Toddler Bypasses White House Security)

Authorities do not believe Oney was planning anything nefarious and he had no ulterior motive for visiting the executive mansion.
