• WATCH Miss Texas Fiercely Defend Capitalism During the Miss USA Pageant

Miss Texas, Ylianna Guerra, may not have won the Miss USA pageant but she sure did win over the hearts and minds of many Americans with her epic defense of free market capitalism.

During the question and answer portion of the contest Guerra was asked about the wealth of CEOs in the United States and whether the federal government has the right to “impose boundaries on salaries of executives” and CEOs who earned “around 300 times as much as the average worker salary” in 2014.

“If you work hard enough, you can attain anything,” Miss Texas responded. “This is the land of opportunity and CEOs, I believe, they work hard enough for their money. So I believe they should be able to attain whatever it is they’re working for.”

Unfortunately Miss Texas had to take home second place behind Miss Oklahoma, Olivia Jordan, who was crowned Miss USA on Sunday.

The event streamed live on Reelz television, while others watch it via satellite and cable because many broadcasters, including NBC and Univision, dropped the event in response to pageant CEO Donald Trump’s comments about immigration.

When asked about the Trump controversy, Jordan said, “We have freedom of speech in this country, and immigration is certainly an important issue.”

“This organization is not one person. It’s definitely not just me. It’s a family. This organization celebrates diversity, and I think that was clear on the stage tonight, and I look forward to spreading a message of love and diversity and acceptance,” she added.
