• This Airport Now Allows You To Travel With Marijuana In Your Possession

Oregon’s recreational marijuana law went into effect on July 1 and it’s causing a major stink for law enforcement officials and now, airlines.

That’s right. According to Fox 12 Oregon, passengers flying through Portland International Airport, Oregon’s largest airport, can now do so with as much as an ounce of marijuana in their possession.

One ounce is the legal limit for adults in Oregon.

If the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) discovers the Mary Jane on you, they’ll pull you out of line to make sure that you have the legal amount of weed, of age to carry it, and that you’re not travailing outside of the state–crossing state lines with any amount of weed is still a federal offense.

But there are some passengers sounding off about the hypocrisy of the government allowing folks to fly high, while others can’t get a tube of toothpaste on an airplane.

“I’m not anti-marijuana, but I’m pro-hairspray. I would really like to have some hairspray or some shampoo. What’s shampoo going to do to somebody? Why can’t I take my shampoo on a plane? I think it’s a little lopsided. Silly, it’s actually silly,” said Oregon resident Verena Douglas.

Good point. The TSA regulates the quantity of liquids and aerosol cans allowed on flights.

Nevertheless, Oregon lawmakers are currently working on legislation to allow tax-free retail marijuana sales through existing medical marijuana dispensaries in the state. Colorado, Washington state, and the District of Columbia already have similar laws.
