• FBI Agents Probe Hillary’s Secret Email Setup

The FBI is investigating the security of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email system.

The agency has taken interest in Clinton’s servers after the State Department’s inspectors general asked the Justice Department last month to find out if sensitive information was “compromised,” improperly shared or stored on Clinton’s private email account.

The FBI contacted Clinton’s lawyer, David Kendall, last week to inquire about the security of a flash drive that contains copies of Clinton’s private emails.

The State Department released a batch of thousands of Clinton’s emails from her time at the State Department, as mandated by a federal court order requiring the department to continuously release documents.

The existence of the e-mail server has raised repeated questions about whether Clinton used the account to shield herself from information requests by journalists and government transparency group and her compliance to federal open records laws.

The inquiries are revealing new information about the lengths Clinton went to install a private channel of communication outside government control.

Clinton still holds a lead in a RealClearPolitics average of polls, but months of negative publicity about the email controversy are dogging her campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is within 6 points of her in New Hampshire.
