• Granny Hillary Jokes About Wiping Email Server ‘With A Cloth’

Hillary Clinton was asked by Fox’s Ed Henry, during her Tuesday town hall in Las Vegas, about whether she plans on taking on taking responsibility for her email scandal instead of making jokes about the controversy and blaming Republicans for turning the issue into a “partisan” affair.

Clinton insisted that her actions were legally permitted and said she took responsibility when she handed over her first set of emails.

“I know there is a certain level of anxiety or interest in this,” Clinton said, “but the facts are the facts.”

Henry asked whether there would be as much backlash if she kept everything on her government account.

Clinton contended that the state department sometimes has inner disagreements about what information can go out, and that this kind of investigation happens all the time.

Henry asked Clinton about the FBI reports that said she had attempted to “wipe” her server.

“Did you try to wipe the entire–so that there’d be no email, no personal and no official?” he asked.

“Well, my personal emails are my personal business,” Hillary replied.

Hillary claimed that her staff went through a “painstaking” process to identify any work-related emails and turned those over to the State Department, a claim she has repeated since March.

“Did you try to wipe the whole server?” Henry pressed.

“I have no idea.” Hillary said, appearing flustered.

Henry tried a third time with, “You were the official in charge of it. Did you wipe the server?”

“What, like, with a cloth or something?” she replied, miming the action of wiping something. “All I can tell you is in retrospect, if I had used a government account, and I had said, let’s release everything, let’s let everybody in America see what I did for four years, we would have the same arguments.”

The FBI said Tuesday that they are confident that they will be able to retrieve at least some of the information lost despite the server having been wiped clean.
