The Donald went on CNN and attacked Fox News after the GOP debate Friday night, telling Don Lemon that Megyn Kelly is a lightweight and not very sharp.
Kelly, who moderated the GOP presidential candidate debate Thursday night, pressed Trump about misogynistic, sexist comments he made in the past, such as calling some women “fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals.”Trump during his appearance on CNN slammed Kelly, calling her questions “ridiculous” and “off-base.”
“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes,” Trump told Lemon. “Blood coming out of her wherever.”
Trump attempted to clarify the remark on Twitter Saturday morning.
“Re Megyn Kelly quote: ‘you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever’ (NOSE). Just got on w/thought”

He also criticized “‘politically correct’ fools in our country.” “We have to all get back to work and stop wasting time and energy on nonsense!” he tweeted.

RedState.com editor Erick Erickson said Trump’s comment crossed the line and disinvited him from the RedState Gathering, a conservative event featuring GOP presidential hopefuls this weekend in Atlanta. Trump was scheduled to give the keynote speech Saturday night.
“I have tried to give a great deal of latitude to Donald Trump in his run for the presidency,” Erickson wrote.“He is not a professional politician and is known for being a blunt talker. He connects with so much of the anger in the Republican base and is not afraid to be outspoken on a lot of issues. But there are even lines blunt talkers and unprofessional politicians should not cross. Decency is one of those lines.”
“I just don’t want someone on stage who gets a hostile question from a lady and his first inclination is to imply it was hormonal. It just was wrong.” Erickson said.
Erickson invited Kelly to replace Trump’s newly vacant spot at the RedState Gathering.
Fox owner Rupert Murdoch who is friends with Trump, praised debate moderators Kelly, Bret Baier and Chris Wallace.
“Friend Donald has to learn this is public life,” Murdoch tweeted.
Baier, Kelly, Wallace great job Thursday. Fine journalism, no more, no less. Friend Donald has to learn this is public life.

The Trump campaign said “this is just another example of weakness through being politically correct.”
“For all of the people who were looking forward to Mr. Trump coming, we will miss you,” his campaign said. “Blame Erick Erickson, your weak and pathetic leader. We’ll now be doing another campaign stop at another location.”
It was not clear where that new campaign stop will be.Trump’s comments about Kelly that may just cause permanent damage to his campaign. They certainly would destroy any other candidate’s campaign. But so far the Donald has been as durable as Teflon, so we shall see.
