• Protesters Flee When They See Ferguson Store Owners Sit Outside Stores With These

The police shooting of Michael Brown, a teenager who reportedly was trying to attack and disarm a police officer, sparked riots, mob violence and the looting and torching of a multiple businesses across Ferguson, Missouri.

Protesters were back out on the street Monday night in Ferguson. There were shootings, looting and rioting in Ferguson over the weekend to mark the one year anniversary of the shooting of Brown.

But in the midst of the mayhem, there were some areas where the looming threat of violence suddenly disappeared, like the Ferguson Market and Liquor Store.

The small business was previously looted and destroyed by protesters twice last year.

But this year the Ferguson Market owners decided to take matters into their own hands.

Armed with shotguns and handguns, the employees stood at the front of the store on Sunday night and their business was left alone.

When shots rang out during the protests many people reportedly ran towards Ferguson Market but quickly ran away when the guns were drawn.++
