• United Express Plane Makes Emergency Landing After 10,000 Foot Descent

Passengers aboard United Express Flight 5919 suffered one of the most terrifying experiences of their lives Sunday after their plane descended close to 10,000 feet after a problem with cabin pressure.

Passenger Robin Jones recounted her fears during the event to USA Today, “I thought, ‘OK. Have I told everybody that I love that I love them?’ And as soon as I realized I had done that, I was like, ‘I’m all right. Everything’s going to be OK.’”

The plane was travelling from Charlotte to Chicago carrying 50 passengers. The plane was rerouted and landed at Indianapolis International Airport around 8:00 a.m. after passengers began to complain about ear and headaches, according to Jeff Dutton, communications manager at the Indianapolis Airport Authority.

No one was hospitalized, but medics were on hand to assist passengers after landing. United transferred the passengers to bus services so they could make the remaining three-hour drive to Chicago.

Airline spokesman Jarek Beem told NBC News maintenance technicians were investigating the “pressurization issue.”
