New Late Show host Stephen Colbert spent a portion of his debut making fun of Donald Trump, chronicling some of the GOP frontrunner’s headline-making comments from recent weeks.
“I promise you, just like the rest of the media, I will be covering all of the presidential candidates…who are Donald Trump,” Colbert says in the above Trump round-up.The segments opens with a clip of Trump announcing he’s swearing off Oreos because Nabisco is moving a plant from Chicago to Mexico.
“I’m not surprised that Donald Trump is willing to stand up to Big Cookie,” Colbert cracked. “After all, he’s the only candidate brave enough to deport the Keebler elves. ‘Hey, tree freaks, get your filthy, fudgey fingers off our jobs!'”
There was no absence of Trump in Colbert’s opening monologue or throughout the program.
More from Gateway Pundit:
Stephen Colbert’s first night on the Late Show proved he’s still every bit the left wing hack he was on Comedy Central. He spent almost six solid minutes bashing Donald Trump but not a single joke about Hillary Clinton’s email scandal or crazy Socialist Bernie Sanders. In the course of his anti-Trump routine, he even put Donald Trump’s face on screen with an image of the KKK.
Laura Ingraham tweeted this out last night:
Glad Colbert has shown his political leanings early. Where are the Hillary email jokes, Stevie?
