• Fox’s Roger Ailes to Sit Down with Donald Trump to Discuss Coverage

The Fox News Channel  announced Thursday that they will enter talks with Donald Trump to discuss his concerns a day after  Trump announced that he was boycotting the network — and after Fox News announced they had cancelled him first.

the GOP frontrunner assailed Fox’s coverage of his campaign On Monday and Tuesday, singling out the prime time shows “The Kelly File” and “The O’Reilly Factor.”

He said Fox commentators were unfair to him in a series of scathing tweets. He also repeatedly insulted Kelly, something that is known to particularly irritate Ailes.

Trump was supposed to be on Thursday’s edition of “The O’Reilly Factor,” the highest-rated show on cable news, but Fox News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes decided to cancel the booking on Wednesday morning.

Trump maintained during a pair of phone interviews on MSNBC and CNN on Thursday morning that he had been unfairly treated by Fox.

Ailes and Donald Trump plan to have a meeting next week to discuss their differences of opinion regarding Fox’s coverage of Trump’s presidential campaign. Ailes will be joined by senior Fox editorial executives.

“Fox News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes and Donald Trump spoke this morning and plan to have a meeting next week to discuss their differences of opinion regarding Fox’s coverage of Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign. Ailes will be joined by senior Fox editorial executives,” a Fox representative said in a statement.

“Mr. Trump believes he has been treated unfairly in certain instances. FOX News has held every candidate in this race to the highest journalistic standards throughout our coverage. We believe a candid meeting about our differences is required and that any misunderstandings can be handled without compromising those standards,” the representative added.
