• Trump: Paul Shouldn’t Be On Debate Stage

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump wasted no time attacking his primary rival minutes into the CNN Republican debate Wednesday night.

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul spent the week leading up the debate talking about how he would go after Donald Trump, Trump made sure he fired first, slamming Paul’s low standing in the polls as well as his appearance.

Trump was asked to respond to criticism that he could not be trusted to have his finger on the nuclear button and first took a moment to say Paul shouldn’t be on the stage.

“First of all, Rand Paul shouldn’t even be on this stage. He’s number 11, he’s got 1 percent in the polls and how he got up here, there is far too many people anyway,” Trump said.

Paul was offered time for rebuttal.

“I kind of have to laugh” Paul said in response and called Trump “sophomoric.” He slammed Trump for attacking “people on their appearance, short, tall, fat, ugly.”

Responding to Paul, Trump landed quite a blow.

“I never attacked him on his look, and believe me there’s plenty of subject matter right there,” Trump shot back.
