Planned Parenthood supporters protested an Iowa tailgate party for 2016 Republican presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina in Iowa City Saturday.
Wearing pink shirts and donning pom-poms, members of the Planned Parenthood “cheerleading squad” at one point threw condoms at Fiorina, forcing the former Hewlett Packard CEO to retreat into a security-protected area.A video has surfaced of Fiorina engaging one of the protesters and attempting to reason with her, as much as one can reason with someone who supports an organization that sells the body parts of late-term aborted babies.
Cindy Shireman, 54, walked up to Fiorina and put her hand on Fiorina’s arm before asking, “how can you as a woman not support our healthcare?”
“Oh, I support women’s health care,” Fiorina responded. “I don’t support the butchering of babies, and you ought to go look at those videos.”
“I understand we may disagree on things, but you need to ask yourself some questions. Why is it that fetuses are aborted alive to butcher their brains? Why,” Fiorina asked Shireman
“You got rid of social services, education,” the protester contended.“That’s simply false,” Fiorina replied. “You need to get your facts straight ma’am.”
Fiorina is facing controversy ever since she made the comment that a video released by an anti-abortion group showed a “fully formed fetus” alive as someone can be heard saying they must keep it alive in order to “harvest its brain.”
