• Carson Would Use Education Department To Police Colleges For ‘Extreme Political Bias’

GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson said Wednesday that if here were elected president he would use the Department of Education to police “extreme political bias” on college campuses.

Carson was asked during a radio interview with Glenn Beck if he, like many, wants to shut down the Department of Education.

Carson said that unlike some of his  conservative colleagues, who would abolish the federal agency, he would have a use for it.

“I actually have something I would use the Department of Education to do,” the retired neurosurgeon replied.

“Would it be pack boxes for the State Department? The IRS?” Beck joked.

“It would be to monitor our institutions of higher education for extreme political bias and deny funding if it exists,” Carson explained.

Republican front-runner Donald Trump has suggested the department be dramatically cut to empower local districts and presidential hopeful Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has advocated abolishing the department.
