The officer approached a group of teenage girls and told them to leave the area. When the girls didn’t leave, the officer challenged one of them to a dance off, The Washington Post reports.

In a statement, D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier said the video was an example of how officers can positively engage with city youths and diffuse conflicts in an appropriate manner.

Lanier said the incident was “reflective of the many positive police-community interactions that take place daily in Washington, D.C. The officer is known for her hard work and dedication to policing.” Lanier, however, did not identify the officer.

The police officer even got a shout out on Twitter from D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.

DC has innovative ways to keep our community #saferstrongerDC. A @dcpolicedept officer even did the “Nae Nae” https://t.co/7QStgMBgio
