• Feminist-Friendly Version Of Barbie Doll Now Comes With ‘Period Party Pack’

The Lammily doll—the so-called “Normal Barbie” with realistic body proportions have introduced a “Period Party” accessory pack to help young girls track their dolls’ menstruation cycle.

The Lammily doll is dubbed “Normal Barbie” because of its normal shape, modeled after an average 19-year-old woman’s measurements, based on CDC data.

Graphic designer turned toymaker, Nickolay who created of the doll, is expanding the offerings of his average-sized, realistic doll to include the $10 Period Party extension.

“I just don’t think that something as core to a women’s life and health as menstruation should be seen as embarrassing in any way, shape, or form,” Lamm told Daily Mail. “If it weren’t for menstruation, I wouldn’t even be alive right now! So why not celebrate it, why not make it as accepted as any other bodily function?”

The kit includes pad and liner stickers, doll-sized underwear to stick them on, a calendar and dot stickers to keep track of their doll’s menstruation cycle.

Lamm describes “Period Party,” as “the fun way to explain the menstrual cycle to kids” and said he worked closely with his mother to design the kit which is on sale for $10.
