• Rand Paul Live Streams An Entire Day Campaigning In Iowa

GOP presidential underdog Sen. Rand Paul became the first candidate in history to livestream an entire day of campaigning Tuesday.

With the exception of a few short breaks, viewers can virtually join the Kentucky Republican on the trail in Iowa via Facebook or UStream.tv. The footage shows everything from Paul making small talk during long drives through cornfields to the 2016 hopeful speaking at scheduled events.

The cameras started rolling early around 8 a.m. and will end after the candidate finishes watching the first Democratic debate on CNN.

“It will be the Rand Paul campaign’s version of ‘The Truman Show’ or ‘EdTV. The campaign will stream every event and give unprecedented behind the scenes access to Sen. Paul and what life is like on the trail in our nation’s first state to vote,” Chief Digital Strategist Vincent Harris told Rare Monday. “We’re very excited about the ability to reach voters, especially younger voters who have come to expect this kind of digital interaction from their candidates.”

Paul started the day with a buffet breakfast followed by stops at Loras College and the baseball field from “Field of Dreams.”

Social media users can interact with the campaign via the hashtag #RandLive.
