Presidential hopeful Donald Trump said Wednesday during the third Republican presidential debate that criticized gun free zones and said he would feel comfortable if his employees brought guns to work.
“I feel that the gun-free zones… that’s target practice for the sickos and for the mentally ill,” Trump said “They look around for gun-free zones.”The real estate magnate admitted that he has a concealed carry permit in New York and said he “might feel more comfortable” if his employees also had concealed carry.
“I do carry on occasion, sometimes a lot,” he said. “But I like to be unpredictable so that people don’t know exactly.”
He stressed the absurdity of gun-free military bases, which enabled the Chattanooga gunman to kill “highly decorated” victims in July 16 of this year because “they weren’t allowed–on a military base–to have guns.”
“If they had had guns, [the attacker] wouldn’t have been around very long,” he said.
