• EU Leaders Won’t Change Immigration Policy After Paris Attack

Syrian refugees continue to arrive in Europe, but no extended vetting measures have been taken despite the news that at least one of the Paris terrorists arrived as a refugee in October.

French President Francois Hollande made a rare appearance in the parliament Monday when he addressed both chambers. While he called for an intensified war on ISIS, he also wants European countries to continue to help more refugees.

“The migration issue is directly related to the wars in Syria and Iraq and ISIS,” Hollande said. “Refugees are also the victims. Therefore Europe has a responsibility [to help]” (RELATED: Paris Attacker Was A Syrian Refugee)

One of the major concerns during the refugee crisis has been that jihadists will easily be able to slip through the cracks due to arrival numbers that exceed what authorities can handle. The Paris attacks confirmed the fear, but there will be no foreseeable change in policy.(RELATED: Italy Arrests ISIS Terrorist Disguised As Refugee)

Jean Claude Juncker, president of the European Commission, released a statement on the issue Sunday in which he said there was no need to review the current immigration policy.

“Those who organized, who perpetrated the attacks are the very same people who the refugees are fleeing and not the opposite,” Juncker said. “And so there is no need for an overall review of the European policy on refugees.”
