Homeless DC Man Stabbed In The Face Over Slice Of Pizza

Two homeless men in Washington, D.C., argued over $10 and a slice of pizza Saturday night before one took out a knife and stabbed the other in the face.

The argument started around 8 p.m. outside of a 7-Eleven in Southeast D.C. as three men were panhandling for money. A customer at the store gave one of the men $10, The Washington Post reports.

Daniel Scott, 35, demanded the unidentified man split the money, but instead the man bought Scott a slice of pizza. Scott was unhappy with the pizza and wanted money, so he pulled out a butcher knife and threatened to stab the witness.

The witness, unfazed, threw a rock at Scott and pulled out his own knife, before the three men walked a few blocks away to a nearby Metro station.

There, after more arguing, Scott took his butcher knife and stabbed the other man, James Neal, 54, in the face before fleeing the scene, Hill Now reports.

Police found Neal about an hour after the stabbing took place and arrested him on assault charges. After Neal died Sunday in a local hospital, police upped the charge to first degree murder, according to a statement released by police.

Scott was ordered detained by a D.C. judge until his Dec. 11 hearing.
