• PETA Issues Not-Horrible Statement About Hero Police Dog Killed In Paris Raid

The radical animal rights group, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), released a statement commemorating the death of Diesel, the 7-year-old female Belgian Shepherd police dog who died in raids against terrorist suspects in Paris.

Diesel was in the front line of the first raid early Wednesday morning in the north Parisian suburb of Saint-Denis. Diesel was tragically killed in the ensuing carnage when a woman blew herself up with a suicide vest. Another person was killed by a hail of police gunfire and grenades and seven more were arrested by French police and taken into custody.

PETA issued a statement Wednesday, saying:

Diesel claimed no religion, posed no threat and owned no weapons – and yet she paid with her life to ensure the safety of the French nation. Today, PETA and our supporters around the world commemorate her for her bravery in standing up to those who have caused so much carnage and suffering. May she and the other innocent individuals caught in this violence rest in peace.

The French police tweeted that “assault and explosives search dogs are indispensable in the missions of the operators of the raid.” French security forces are looking for terrorist organizer Abdelhamid Abaaoud, a 27-year-old Belgian, who is thought to have been involved with masterminding Friday’s attacks in Paris that left 129 dead.
