• Veterans’ Gravestones Toppled, Smashed in Act of Vandalism

The gravestones of war veterans were vandalized at the West Bridgewater cemetery in Massachusetts over the weekend, just ahead of Veterans Day.

Families who saw the gravestones of their loved ones toppled were devastated by the destruction.

“They were very close to me. This just kills me,” Jane Borus told MyFoxBoston. “They must have something better to do with their time than to do this. I don’t understand it.”

Many of the gravestones of Civil War veterans and of veterans of the 18th and 19th centuries were broken beyond repair and are considered to be irreplaceable.

The vandals also smashed urns and snapped flags at the cemetery.

The cemetery has been defaced hit by vandals in the past, but it’s reportedly the first time war veterans were singled out.

Police have yet to track down the suspects down.

GoFundMe page was created to help fund a security system for the cemetery and cover the cost of repairs.
