The leader of Mexico’s deadliest drug cartel, Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán has declared war on the Islamic State after its militants destroyed one of his shipments sent to the Middle East.
“My men will destroy you,”’ El Chapo warns the terror group’s leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, in an encrypted email that was leaked to a Mexican blogger with strong ties to the cartel. The world is not yours to dictate. I pity the next son of a wh*re that tries to interfere with the business of the Sinaloa Cartel.”“You [ISIS] are not soldiers. You are nothing but lowly p*ssies,” the e-mail stated. “Your god cannot save you from the true terror that my men will levy at you if you continue to impact my operation,” the e-mail added. “I will have their heart and tongue torn from them.”
El Chapo is considered the most powerful narcotics trafficker in the world with a net worth of at least $1 billion. He emerged as Mexico’s top drug lord in 2003.
The Mexican cartels are trying to expand their business into the Middle East which has a burgeoning party drug scene enjoyed by oil-rich royals and executives, but ISIS is allegedly destroying the drug shipments for not complying with Sharia Law
“As drugs are not a part of the organizational ideology for a Muslim state, ISIS fighters have been destroying shipments of drugs from the cartels,” the blog says.
ISIS maybe be seizing the drugs, but not necessarily destroying them. Despite the blog’s claim that ISIS is against narcotics, there is evidence that ISIS fighters are operating under the influence of stimulants—specifically one called Captagon—that help them overcome fear and fatigue. The head of the Russian state anti-drug agency, Victor Ivanov said in a in March, 2015 that ISIS made up to $1 billion annually from Afghan heroin trafficked through its territory.
