• Civil War – National Review Fires On Trump (VIDEO)

    Against Trump!

The National Review, a long-time conservative political magazine, has devoted an entire issue to attacking Donald Trump. They took the attack so far as to publish pieces written by more than 20 leading conservatives laying out their case against Trump.

The authors are Glenn Beck, David Boaz, Brent Bozell, Mona Charen, Ben Domenech, Erick Erickson, Steven Hayward, Mark Helprin, Bill Kristol, Yuval Levin, Dana Loesch, Andrew McCarthy, David McIntosh, Michael Medved, Ed Meese, Russell Moore, Michael Mukasey, Katie Pavlich, John Podhoretz, R.R. Reno, Thomas Sowell, and Cal Thomas.

Here are a few of the highlights of what they had to say:

“If Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination, there will once again be no opposition to an ever-expanding government.” -Glenn Beck

“The GOP base is clearly disgusted and looking for new leadership. Enter Donald Trump, not just with policy prescriptions that challenge the cynical GOP leadership but with an attitude of disdain for that leadership—precisely in line with the sentiment of the base. Many conservatives are relishing this, but ah, the rub. Trump might be the greatest charlatan of them all.” -Brent Bozell

“Just a few years ago, I and many others were receiving threats for promoting conservative policies and conservative principles — neither of which Donald Trump seems to care about. Yet he’s leading. Popularity over principle — is this the new Right?” -Dana Loesch

“For decades, Trump has argued for big government. About health care he has said: “Everybody’s got to be covered” and “The government’s gonna pay for it.” He has called for boycotts of American companies he doesn’t like, told bureaucrats to use eminent domain to get him better deals on property he wanted to develop, and proudly proposed the largest tax increase in American history. Trump has also promised to use tariffs to punish companies that incur his disfavor. He offers grand plans for massive new spending but no serious proposals for spending cuts or entitlement reforms. These are not the ideas of a small-government conservative who understands markets. They are, instead, the ramblings of a liberal wannabe strongman who will use and abuse the power of the federal government to impose his ideas on the country.” – David McIntosh

You can sum it up with – “Shot’s Fired!” If you’ve noticed anything about Trump, you know he’s going to shoot back. He doesn’t take anything lying down, which is why he’s popular. A mass of people have a ” We’re pissed off and we’re not gonna take it anymore” attitude and Trump has given them an angry voice.

Trump didn’t wait to return fire:

Speaking to DailyMail.com during a press conference in Las Vegas, Trump dismissed the 60-year-old publication.

“The National Review is washed-up and irrelevant. Its circulation is way down. Not very many people read it anymore, I mean, people don’t even think about the National Review. So I guess they want to get a little publicity. But you know, it’s a dying paper. It’s pretty much – I’ve gotta tell you, it’s pretty much a dead paper.”

No matter how damaging the Against Trump attack is, he wins. Trump will be front and center with wall-to-wall media coverage on this topic for several days, only now Trump can play the martyr. Reality TV has come to politics. Trump just got voted off the island. No problem, he owns the island.
