  • Donald Trump Flubs Attempt To Quote The Bible

Recently, Donald Trump was courting the coveted evangelical vote at Liberty University. He claims to be the candidate that will “protect Christianity” and he’s not afraid to say the politically incorrect things. He wants to be the hero to Christians who increasingly feel like a persecuted class under the Obama presidency.

He is singing to the choir in a predominately Christian event when he stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Jerry Falwell. Things are looking good for Trump, until he opens his mouth.

He quotes 2 Corinthians 3:17 Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Right? That’s yuge!

The only problem was that when he read the scripture, he read it verbatim, exactly as his speech writer had it written for him. He said the word “Two” instead of “Second”. If you are a Christian of almost any kind, you know that 2 Corinthians is pronounced Second Corinthians.

Giggling and sideways glances filled the seats as Christians looked at each other in realization that Trump had no idea he’d misspoke. He had no idea because that was probably the first time he’d ever heard of first or second Corinthians.

I’m sure some in the crowd were thinking of another scripture right about then. Proverbs 15:2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, But the mouth of fools pour out folly.

Two words for Trump’s speechwriter. You’re fired!
