• Trump: I Could Shoot Someone And Not Lose Voters

When you think he has said it all, The Donald delivers once again. He has taken saying outlandish things to a new level. Recently, at a rally in Sioux Center, Iowa Donald Trump claimed, “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters. Okay…it’s like incredible.”

On the heals of being assaulted with an all out frontal attack from the old guard Republican establishment Trump is dauntless. The twenty-two conservative authors of the attack piece from the National Review titled Against Trump may be somewhat stunned. Their piece did little more than out themselves as people for Trump’s passionate supporters to dislike.

In a world of trends, they also assured Trump’s trending for a few more days.

Trump took the opportunity to build on their attack and shore up his support that had actually been waning in much needed Iowa. Trump still leads most national polls, but in Iowa challenger Ted Cruz has a strong ground game and his support has bested Trump’s in a few polls.

No one really knows what will happen in Iowa or the country, but I seriously wonder if Trump is wrong about his statement. If he shot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue, how many of his supporters would fall in line with, “well, that guy deserved it…or Donald had no choice…”

His populist support is getting Mussoliniesque. He’s not a stupid man. No one could make that claim stick. He actually reads the pulse of the media exceedingly well. That said, if you happen to see Trump walking down the center of 5th Avenue like Clint Eastwood you might want to take cover.
