  • Slain Dallas Cop Loved His Family, Sports, America, And His Job

One of the five slain officers in Dallas was a young hero named, Patrick Zamarripa.

He was a Mexican-American who served three tours of duty in Iraq only to die of ambush in Texas.

In his short bio on Twitter account he describes himself this way:

Addicted to the thrill of this job. I own the night. I love my Country, Texas, Family, God, Friends, and Sports! Don’t Tread on Me! ‘Merica

His last tweet on the account went out to all of America on July 4th.

According to the New York Daily News:

Maria Zamarripa, glued to the TV coverage of the murderous mayhem in Dallas, frantically texted her stepson: “Can u please let us know if you are OK?”

When Dallas police Officer Patrick Zamarippa never replied, she quickly understood that they would never speak again.

“I got that gut feeling when I texted him,” Maria Zamarripa recalled Friday inside the family’s suburban Texas home. “I knew.”

Her premonition proved sadly prescient: The five-year police veteran and father of a beautiful 2-year-old girl was among the five officers killed Thursday night in a racist rampage.

Zamarripa was a devoted Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. He was a devoted family man with a two year old daughter and an older stepson. His family has stated that he simply loved life, loved helping people and loved being a cop.

    Rest in peace brother.
