  • Bill Clinton Fans the Flames of Division: Says “Make America Great Again” is Racist

Bill Clinton held a campaign rally on Wednesday at a community center in Orlando, Florida for black community activists. The Orlando Sentinel reported he “devoted much of his speech to trying to explain the ‘rage’ across the country from poor, working-class whites which he says have been ‘manipulated’ all their life. He described a world full of people rubbing salt in their wounds instead of bandaging them up and saying, ‘Let’s build tomorrow together.’ ”

With Real Clear Politics poll averages showing the race in Florida now in a dead-heat and Trump gaining ground. Bill continued to stoke the racial divide by telling the crowd that:

The “Make America Great Again” slogan, (now that Donald Trump is using it) is really just coded racism:

“I’m actually old enough to remember the good old days, and they weren’t all that good in many ways,” he said. “The message where ‘I’ll give you America great again’ is, if you’re a white Southerner, you know exactly what it means, don’t you?”

“What it means is, “I’ll give you an economy that you had 50 years ago, and I’ll move you back up on the social totem pole and other people down. What Hillary wants to do is take the totem pole down, and let us all go forward together.”

Of course, in Bill’s view the slogan did not mean any of this when the Clinton’s used it in their own campaigns, and what it actually means to most voters is that the country’s economy stinks, too many Americans aren’t working, the world needs U.S. leadership, the U.S. military should be stronger, and other trifles.

In fact, while shilling for Hillary against Obama in the 2008 race, Bill said this:

“It’s time for another comeback, time to make America great again.”

But as America’s go-to surrogate and its “first black president” (a ridiculous accolade made by the late author Maya Angelou which Clinton just as ridiculously accepted), Clinton’s task is to turn all of this on its head and help nail down a victory in Orange County, which means getting out the black vote.

An Obama-like turnout among African-Americans would obviously help Hillary win Florida. Indeed, it may be critical for Hillary. Bill and Hillary are counting on blacks voting in lock step as they have in the past, despite their own racist comments. Who can forget Hillary talking about blacks in the criminal justice system in 1996 stating:

“We have to bring them to heel.”

Bill Clinton is hardly the first Democrat to say that Donald Trump (and the GOP generally) is racist. It’s a shopworn and tiresome tactic, but it works.

And in a tightening race, an apathetic African-American turnout would be a disaster for Hillary – in order to win, she must have a strong turnout and the kind of 90+% support that Democrats have come to expect and need from African-Americans. Hillary has a long, ugly and documented history of racism that makes even her apologists wince.

Earlier this year at a democratic fundraiser in New York, she attempted an “unfunny” joke about “colored people time”. The joke was met with groans.

The Clinton’s record of garnering black support while hiding their own racism will continue as they absolutely must shore up the black vote. Signs that Trump could peel away some African-American support are rattling the democrats. Trump recently received a standing ovation after speaking at the predominantly Great Faith Ministries Church in Detroit.

We can expect plenty more shameless, race-baiting jib-jab from Democrats.

In fact, the Clinton’s and their minions must stoke the flames of racial division to accomplish their goals of power. True racial “healing” would do nothing to secure African-American support they need year-after-year.
