• COMMENTARY: In Support of Trump’s Travel Ban

In light of the recent terror attacks in London and Manchester, I want to reaffirm—for the record—that I am an Islamophobe. Actually, I will go one step further and say that every thinking American ought to be an Islamophobe. Islam is a political ideology—masquerading as a religion—that promotes murder, intolerance, misogyny, and totalitarianism. As I state in my new book, Tyranny of the Minority:

“Islamic values represent an absolute contradiction to ours. The two systems cannot coexist. Wherever Islam gains a following, Muslims demand an end to human rights and the freedoms that are taken for granted in the West. ‘Resist it while you still can,’ warned Christopher Hitchens, ‘and before the right to complain is taken away from you.’”

Mark Steyn, author of the prophetic America Alone, has put the truth succinctly: “The choice is liberty or mass Muslim immigration.” He has warned about the correlation between large numbers of Muslim immigrants and the proliferation of terrorist attacks. Germany, England and France have opened their borders to hordes of Muslim immigrants and the reward has been disruption of their societies. Poland and the Czech Republic “have very few Muslims so they don’t have terrorism,” notes Steyn.

The only public figure who has been willing to tell the truth about the connection between Islam and terrorism is Donald Trump. Politicians in Europe and the US are feeding us the lie that Islam is a religion of peace. They are deliberately deceiving their constituencies in support of personal agendas that have to do with globalism and the progressive ideology. The mayor of London has argued that Brits should not be concerned about terrorism; it is merely the “new normal,” he says. UK Prime Minister Theresa May defends Islam, calling it a “great faith.” Her policy of denial—refusing to hold Islam responsible for terrorist attacks—is condemning the UK to a continued reign of terrorism.

In the eye of the storm is President Trump’s ban on immigration from six Middle Eastern countries. Unlike his predecessor and European counterparts, Trump wants to protect the US from a clear and present danger. In an effort that is tantamount to treason, a handful of rogue federal judges have unlawfully brought our government to a halt with their temporary restraining orders (TROs) that prevent Trump’s ban from taking effect.

A group of dissenting justices of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals have explained how the rogue justices ignore the applicable legal precedent, which is that the courts cannot overturn presidential orders that derive their authority from section 1182(f) of Title Eight. This statute clearly gives the president power over immigration. The argument that the ban discriminates against Muslims based on their religion is refuted because non-Muslims from the designated countries are subject to the same restrictions as Muslims. If a Christian from Yemen tries to enter the US, he falls under the same ban that applies to Muslims from Yemen.

A survey by Rasmussen Reports found that 68% of Americans support the president’s order and believe the courts should abide by legal precedents and the Constitution. The rejection of Trump’s travel ban is an example of how the leftist judiciary elevates politics over legality. The rogue judges have shown contempt for the rule of law and are conspiring to reverse the outcome of the presidential election.

We do not have the luxury of playing the liberal game called “enabling Islamic jihad.” One of the more dangerous aspects of Obama’s legacy is the effort to impede surveillance of the Muslim community. By refusing to engage in racial profiling, says author Ann Coulter, the FBI failed to uncover the 9/11 plot and “allowed thousands of Americans to be slaughtered on the altar of political correctness.” The New York City Police Department’s counterterrorism unit, charged with detecting terrorist activity by carrying out surveillance of Muslim groups, was shut down by the city’s liberal mayor. Evidently the 9/11 attacks have been forgotten by many of our elected representatives.

And so we return to the alleged offense known as Islamophobia, an effort by Muslims hardliners to prevent any criticism of Islam. What offends me most about Islamophobia is the intention to curb free speech. It was working under the Obama presidency, when Attorney General Loretta Lynch threatened to prosecute anyone guilty of “anti-Muslim rhetoric.” For my money, you can’t get more un-American than Islamophobia. We can’t have it both ways. Either we have the First Amendment or we have sharia, Islamic law that obliterates free speech and demands the murder of anyone who gets in the way of Islamic ideology.

One group in the US approves of the Islamophobia scam. A poll by Wenzel Strategies reports that 58% of American Muslims believe criticism of Islam is not protected free speech under the First Amendment. “To learn who rules over you,” said Voltaire, “simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize.”
