• When Not Having Enough Babies Should Be of Concern to Civilized People

Surge Summary: The “replacement rate” of new births is disconcertingly low in America and much of the Western Word — but very high in some parts of Islam — which should concern us.

Recently a word popped back into my head, one that I have used before…it was demographics.  That’s defined as “relating to the structure of populations.”, but it’s so much more than just that.  If one studies demographics, and applies the numbers in an honest fashion, some interesting results come out.

As an example, in the “Western” world we tend to think of marriage as one man and one woman…although some folks have imagined that there are more than two genders so other relationships might be possible…but I digress. For our purposes, we’ll think of it in the “conventional sense”, one man and one woman.  In our country, in 2018 it was reported that the total fertility rate fell to 1,728 births per 1,000 women over their lifetimes — a 2% fall from 2017. That’s far below the replacement rate of 2,100 births per 1,000.  That’s an interesting phrase, “replacement rate”, and you should remember it as we go along.

In Japan, the birth rate has hit its lowest level since records began in 1899, placing the “replacement rate” in jeopardy.  This is, in fact, the case in many “Western” countries. There is ONE “sector” where replacement is thriving…but it’s not a country, it’s a CULT.  Islam, where a man can have four wives and those women could possibly be responsible for bearing children every year, is the ONLY place where replacing the present population is a very real possibility.

THAT, my friends, is a very frightening possibility indeed, because it means that Muslims are replacing everyone else!

Once, out in that section of Crazyfornia that they call Hollywood, movies were made that had good plots, and the people acting in those movies had class…well, some of them did.  I recall one, that ultimately defined the era.  He was handsome, a true “star” but one who didn’t get his name splashed all over the newspapers and gossip columns, unless it was for a good reason.  No tawdry affairs for him, no succession of women in and out of his home, as many of his peers were doing.  Known as one of classic Hollywood’s definitive leading men. He began a career in Hollywood in the early 1930s and became known for his transatlantic accent, debonair demeanor, light-hearted approach to acting, and sense of comic timing. Even today, many years after his death, if you mention his name, Archibald Leach, people smile and get that thoughtful look in their eyes.  Men wanted to be him and women wanted to be WITH him. I’m pretty sure that he was one of a kind, and the mold was broken when he was born. For those of us of a certain age, he was the man we all wished to emulate, he was the one and only Cary Grant.

Again…almost on a daily basis, we read something that a lefty loony is proposing that will “control” guns in some manner.  To say that there are thousands of gun “control” laws on the books already is old news, but it’s true.  We have become accustomed to hearing it from Democrats, but from a Republican?  Earlier this year, Rep. Susan Brooks (R-IN) introduced HR 5717, the Jake Laird Act of 2018, which allows for a police officer to confiscate your guns on the grounds that he believes you are “dangerous.” Now, you need to think about that statement…a police officer who may have never seen you before in his life, believes you to be dangerous and so has a right to take your guns away.  It may be that, after a long and expensive legal fight, you will get your guns back…but I wouldn’t bet any serious money on that premise.  From almost any standpoint, this is an unconstitutional idea, and there are several amendments that would be arguable over this proposed law.

The Second Amendment says keeping arms “shall not be infringed” and that seems pretty clear.  Then we see the Fourth Amendment which says the law officers should have SOME sort of good reason, and maybe a warrant, to search.  Due process of law is covered in the Fifth Amendment and, to me, this all goes against that seizure of weapons.  They seek to claim someone is dangerous, but yet, has committed no crime, has not faced a charge and has not been either indicted nor convicted of a crime.  They then seek to steal their property.  My guess is that if push came to shove, there would be “resistance” and possibly shots would be fired, on both sides.  Why anyone would draft a document that just goes against much of our Constitution, is beyond me.

Parting shot: We, the people of the United States, have been given something wonderful…the Constitution.  That document, like no other that I know of, severely limits the powers of the government, NOT the people.  Maybe there are other places one might want to live, if we can believe what some people say…but they don’t leave the United States…ever!  If that doesn’t tell you that we must be doing really well, then I don’t know what might.  People are literally dying to get here, and we are trying to welcome them, but we have a patchwork of immigration laws that need to be fixed.  There’s even one about having a baby in this country, an “anchor baby” that should be changed quickly.  I like America, love it or leave it.
