• Pro-life Stalwart and Videographer to Appeal Ruling in Favoring Abortion Giant

Surge Summary: The pro-life activists who recently lost in a hefty lawsuit filed against them by Planned Parenthood are planning on appealing the decision. The noble battle to save the lives of unborn children and shutdown the marketplace for their body parts, of necessity, goes on.

There’s no denying, in a recent court ruling, intrepid, pro-life undercover journalist David Daleiden suffered a stinging setback – but, typical of the anti-abortion movement in general the name of the game is perseverance; so this latest reversal is not the end of the road just yet.

    Chris Woodward/OneNewsNow reports:

Friday, a San Francisco U.S. District Court jury returned a verdict of more than two million dollars under the federal Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organizations (RICO) law, among others, in favor of Planned Parenthood. The case involved so-called “sting” videos recorded over the past several years by Daleiden and his California-based Center for Medical Progress.

The Thomas More Society has defended Daleiden against Planned Parenthood since “the multibillion-dollar abortion provider sued him for exposing the corporation’s role in alleged illegal baby body parts trafficking.” The lawsuit was brought by Planned Parenthood Federation of America and ten of its abortion affiliates after Daleiden’s 2015 release of a series of investigative videos that exposed the underbelly of the fetal tissue trade.

“This lawsuit is payback for David Daleiden exposing Planned Parenthood’s dirty business of buying and selling fetal parts and organs,” said Thomas More Society attorney Peter Breen in a statement. “We intend to seek vindication for David on appeal. His investigation into criminal activity by America’s largest abortion-provider utilized standard investigative journalism techniques, those applied regularly by news outlets across the country.”

Founder and publisher of LifeNews.com Steven Ertelt called the outcome “very disappointing,” and challenged,

“Planned Parenthood should be the ones who are paying the price for selling the body parts of aborted babies and potentially doing that illegally. Instead, a jury has targeted the pro-life investigators who exposed those sales and targeted them.”

Yup, most definitely an upside down situation here.

The Thomas More Society avows in an email to OneNewsNow.com that it will be fighting the multi-million-dollar RICO judgment – a plan that Ertelt applauds.

“The good news is that the Ninth U.S. Circuit Appeals Court is no longer the far-left wing, pro-abortion court that it used to be,” says Ertelt. “Thanks to President Trump, there are new appointees on there who are more conservative, Republican, and more open to the truth of what happened and not holding accountable the whistleblowers who exposed it.”

His comments, understandably, take in the topic of next year’s election:

“There is a real battle of good versus evil in this country when it comes to abortion,” he emphasizes. “And if you don’t want totally unlimited abortion funded by your taxpayer dollars and infanticide nationwide, you have to speak up, you have to stand up, you have to vote pro-life – and be involved.”

Those who recognize the transparent truth that babies’ being killed in the womb is a circumstance that cannot be countenanced in a civilized nation must take inspiration from Daleiden and his legal counsel: fight on; continue to labor, advocate, vote and pray. Pray specifically this case comes before those with eyes to see what is the true moral affront in this controversy. Hint: it ain’t the guys pulling back the grubby curtain on the child-killers/traffickers.
