• Steyn Uncovers Serious Problem for Western Societies — Which Leaders Are Ignoring

Surge Summary: Author Mark Steyn diagnoses a dire problem for many nations of the world – including America and Western European countries: a declining birthrate; one that is below replacement level. Muslim countries, meanwhile, continue to produce ample children. The ramifications of this trend are alarming for Judeo-Christian peoples.

I am reading America Alone by Mark Steyn.  It deals with the effects of the declining birthrate
    — below the replacement rate — in all but Muslim countries.

The consequences he projects are startling and will undermine the Judeo-Christian political/economic system that we have enjoyed for past centuries.

The negative results are already well underway in many countries and areas of the world according to Steyn — including most of Europe and Asia and Japan.

He says Russia is already a declining population disaster waiting to happen – and he projects China will eventually take over barren eastern areas of that country.

Stein identifies Muslim countries with explosive birth rates and projects their population-expansion into previous Judeo-Christian areas of the world.

The author says the western world is focusing on the wrong problems — weather, weapons, socialism, racism, etc., while ignoring the problems promulgated by birth rates below replacement values.

I have several chapters to go but I’m so alarmed by what I’ve read already that I felt compelled to surface this problem and its consequences.
