• An Historic American Milestone Reached — No Thanks to Progressive Road Blocks Along the Way

Surge Summary: America officially becomes a net exporter of crude oil and refined petroleum products. New technology – and the liberty to develop and use it – gets most of the credit. These are realities consistently opposed by Progressives.

Big news – good news for Americans — that has been brewing for several years now …

Neal Freyman over at morningbrew.com clues us in:

The U.S. became a net exporter of crude oil and refined petroleum products in September, the first full month it’s done so since the 1940s, according to the Energy Information Administration.

    • As a net exporter, the U.S. shipped out more of those products than it imported—89,000 more barrels to be exact.

Why it matters: The U.S. has sprinted to the top of the oil food chain thanks to a boom in shale drilling. Just one decade ago, imports topped exports by 12 million barrels.

One of the benefits of the Trump administration, is that it is pro-business and pro-technology. Remember the doomsday Cassandras who told us way back in the 1960s and ‘70s that planet earth was exhausted, oil and other resources were about depleted? Remember all the obstacles the Obama people – and the Left collectively for decades now – have thrown up against finding and exploiting those resources, including oil production? Against just about any and every technical advancement? This hostility toward moving forward on the innovation front has produced negative, sometimes paralyzing, consequences for all kinds of industries, including oil.

Meanwhile, the Creator put resources in the earth for man to tap them, use them. Use them responsibly, of course — but use them! (Genesis 1:28; 2:15)

Why do Progressives have such an impenetrably difficult time grasping this? Perhaps because so many of them reject the notion of a Creator from the jump? Whatever the reason, it seems the Left dependably stands athwart progress at every turn.

With a cutting of some regulation and a positive vibe toward energy production – yes, including nefarious fossil fuels! — the Trump presidency has begun to reverse that trend.

We see the fruit of that in this thrilling breakthrough for America.

Looking ahead…oil prices will be in focus as the top producers meet in Vienna for the OPEC meeting on Thursday and Friday.
