• The Media Makes Sure No Matter What Happens — Dems Always Win

Surge Summary: The Democratic Party knows no matter what it does, the Mainstream Media has got its back; they will win. This emboldens them. Meanwhile, conservatives can still win elections — which we must keep doing if we are to check the Left.

Listen, and understand…It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity or remorse or fear, and it absolutely will not stop EVER…”  — Kyle Reese, Terminator, 1984

What would you do if you knew you could not fail?

Years ago, a colleague of mine answered, “Win the lottery.” Clearly, not the response this question usually elicits as it’s meant to challenge people who are afraid of failing. Write a book, start a business, run a marathon, lose 50 pounds, etc. The mindset of knowing you can’t fail if you keep trying is a powerful motivator.

So it makes sense that Democrats ask themselves this question daily, and it’s safe to say the question sounds like, “What if we could thwart and even hurt President Trump and anyone associated with him?” Think about everything elected and non-elected Democrats have done since Trump was nominated. Directed at Trump, we have collusion with Russia, Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 (emoluments clause), bribery, quid pro quo, sexual harassment, sexual assault, and – what Pelosi’s House finally settled on — obstruction of Congress and abuse of power.

In Trump’s circle we’ve seen unrelated process crimes – meaning, crimes like improper wire transfers or registering as a foreign agent. While President Trump has yet to be put in handcuffs or behind bars, this fact hasn’t kept people around him from experiencing the wrath of people who don’t like Trump. Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, and General Michael Flynn are either in prison (Manafort is in solitary confinement), or facing it. Democrats dragged Brett Kavanaugh through laughably unsubstantiated charges only because Trump won the election.

Let’s revise the question: What would you do against your political opponents if you knew you could not fail?

Sure, whatever “conviction” Democrats may get against Trump, he won’t see the inside of any jail cell. But it doesn’t matter. Regardless of what happens directly to Trump or indirectly via anyone he has been remotely associated with, Democrats think they will win. To them, the ultimate victory is Trump’s removal from office. On the other hand, a minor victory can be limited to a two-day news cycle where every outlet but Fox News (and even Fox News, lately) splashes “BOMBSHELL — BREAKING NEWS!” until it fizzles like a wet firework. Even if nothing happens, as with the laughable and eye-rolling case of E. Jean Carroll’s rape allegations, Democrats move on to the next charge. Call it conviction by proxy.

As of this writing, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi appears to be playing a game of “play by my rules, or you don’t get to vote on our sham Articles of Impeachment we just mournfully celebrated” because, she asserts, Mitch McConnell can’t be trusted.

I hope you see the pattern. It doesn’t matter what Democrats do, they always win. Even if they fail to accomplish what the initial salvo may promise, they still win – as would anyone when behind them stands a powerful and omnipresent media ready to run cover with bright lights and loud noises or darkness and sound booth silence. Whatever works.

    Except for elections.

Yes, Democrats don’t care about elections. Most judges at every court level don’t care about elections. But we have to score where we can and until Democrats completely ruin the electoral process, we still have this powerful tool at our disposal.

Elections are at Democrats’ disposal, too, so encourage your cynical family and friends that this matters more than anything. People who say “this is the most important election of our lifetime” aren’t wrong; it’s that they’re right about every election.

Always vote so even if Democrats win their interim battles, we win the war.
