• A Trillion American Dollars Invested in Afghanistan – and for What Purpose Exactly?

Surge Summary: A fortune has been spent in the last two decades in Afghanistan – and for what purpose? Meanwhile, “stealth jihad” against America continues here in the United States.

I’ve been what some might call a “closet isolationist” for years.  It’s been a pet peeve, which has been voiced many, many, times, that we should make everything that we need or use, in the United States.  We did, once, during “THE war” …the war that we, and our allies won because Fortress America built everything we needed AND we built everything that nearly everybody else needed too!  As a song of the period said, “We did it before and we can do it again” …and we can.  Do we not have scientists, medical experts, manufacturing facilities, and anything else that’s needed, in America?  The current crisis of the Covid-19 virus pointed up the need for us NOT to depend on others for things that are vital to us…especially when the supplier is not to be trusted and is a potential enemy.

Turning to another sore point: Afghanistan.  It’s been my contention for years and years that that country isn’t really a country at all.  Rather, it is a vast desert, populated here and there by cities and villages that probably haven’t seen much change in several hundreds of years.  No ethnic group has a majority, but Pashtuns and Tajiks make up roughly 40 and 30 percent of the population, respectively. Hazaras and Uzbeks constitute another 10 percent each. That said, many of the tribes are further divided by the area in which they live, and even by some families.  It definitely is a tribal system, and the concept of a central government, or even some modicum of modernity seems to be foreign to the Afghans.

Back a few years, around 2002, a huge amount of taxpayer money was allocated for Afghanistan.  Since President Trump has been talking about trillions of dollars, you might be interested to know that the United States Government spent right around ONE TRILLION in that vast wasteland called Afghanistan.  Cutting corners, and sad to say, it was by both the Afghanis and the US construction companies resulted in power stations that were sometimes powerless, and buildings that had walls of really bad construction. Oh, and let’s not forget that Afghanistan is one of the top producers of poppies, and that’s not for your lapels…that’s to be turned into opium and who-knows-what-else? From 2016 to 2017 the poppy cultivation area increased by a whopping 63%! Somebody is buying that stuff, and somehow it’s getting into our country.

Something else getting into our country, is Islam.  We all know, or we should, of “the plan” that is the backbone of Islam…the domination of the world by whatever means possible.  They use violence when they think it’s a worthwhile effort but, MOST OF THE TIME we don’t know what they’re doing because they use “stealth jihad”. That’s a term that a lot of Americans haven’t heard, and that’s exactly how the jihadis like it.  They are in our country and doing things in ways that no one would suspect are contrary to the welfare of the United States.   Sometimes the “fish” that are converted to Islam are caught and when they are it’s surprising who, and what, they are.  In this case, it’s Ikaika Erik Kang, 35, a sergeant first class stationed at Schofield Barracks in Honolulu.  Sergeant Kang succumbed to the siren song of ISIS and it’s going to cost him 25 years in prison.  He swore an oath of allegiance to the United States, but something made him betray that oath and his country.

He was under observation for about a year before being caught.  The FBI swooped in and got him before he could do what he thought was going to be a strike for ISIS.  Actually, almost from the first time he contacted ISIS he was dealing with FBI agents, and they brought him along to the point where he said he wanted to join ISIS. At his home he had a rifle and a handgun, but never fired a shot at anyone.  He had been building up a folder, and in it were classified air traffic control documents that describe call signs, aircraft types, route points, directives, mission procedures and radio frequencies. Also handed over were the U.S. military’s “weapons file,” which describes all armament capabilities of the U.S. armed forces, Justice noted, along with details about a sensitive mobile airspace management system used by the U.S. military.  In addition, the documents contained personally identifiable information of U.S. service members.  The FBI has been under fire lately, but for the most part, they do a great job.

A few words about our Southern border.  Back in November of 2018, six Bangladeshi males were caught, sneaking into the United States…in a twelve-hour time frame.  These people, who represent themselves to be Hondurans, are not.  Why they are here is a matter of conjecture because the country is Muslim-majority.  This was, of course, prior to the commencement of the building of the wall, so we may not see any more of them…but it seems that all the Muslim-controlled countries want to send their people here.   You can bet that they’re not coming here to be good citizens.  I believe that once the wall is complete two things are going to happen.  One, the border crossings will drop dramatically until they figure out how to climb the wall.  Two, there’s going to be a big increase in tunnels from Mexico to us. Stay strong!
