Death is one of the certainties of human existence. There are 7.8 billion people in this world and all will die in the fullness of time from various diseases or simply old age.
The latest known killer, coronavirus, may kill 256 persons per million of global population. That’s equivalent to 2.6 deaths per 10,000 of global population. That’s less than one death per thousand.
As sad as these deaths are — they really have a small effect. By any measure, that’s not many deaths from a big picture perspective. And besides, all of the people who die from COVID-19 will eventually die from something else.
Frankly, if you apply common sense, it is completely ridiculous to shut down the economy of the United States and the world-in-general for this relatively minuscule effect. And Heaven only knows how many people will die from other causes triggered by the current shutdown, the crushing closing of the USA economy, and inevitable depression to follow.
President Trump, whom I support, has been seriously misled by medical-socialists. They clearly lack social/political/economic perspective and judgement in calling for the drastic economic shutdown that we are now experiencing. Twenty-two million people have now filed for unemployment compensation in the USA. If you factor in their dependence , that means 60 million to 100 million people are adversely affected by this unemployment. When you consider this is a self-inflicted tragedy, it dwarfs any effect of the COVID-19 epidemic. Certainly you can see how irrational our approach has been. I‘m afraid the medical-Socialists have led us into a major depression, which will take years to overcome — if ever! Destroying the US economy to fight COVID-19 is perhaps the dumbest thing that has ever happened to our government in my lifetime.
And, once more: it will take years to overcome the damage delivered to our economy and citizens by this rash action.
The President is a super achiever and leader with supreme energy. Unfortunately, he has been persecuted by the Dems, Leftist Media, the Government Bureaucracy, the Business Globalists, etc. for his entire term in office. And recently, he has been manipulated by Medical-Socialists to close (and destroy) the once booming Trump-economy. He fell headfirst into their trap, which is now triggering a serious depression. Getting our nation back to work via Competitive-Free-Enterprise — in the teeth of the Medical-Socialists’ atmosphere that he has inadvertently allowed to rule — will be his ultimate challenge. Frankly, I’m not optimistic, but I’m praying for his success!
We must all pray for him, for our other leaders and for America.
