• Is the Significance — and Significant Questions — of 9-11 Already Being Forgotten?

Surge Summary: The indicators are there that, not only will most Americans one day not remember the terror that happened on 9-11, but that some are already forgetting about it. This is occurring mind you, as significant questions still remain regarding how U.S. intelligence agencies allowed that atrocity to happen in the nation in the first place.

    Do we remember 9-11?

That’s an interesting question and one that deserves some sort of response, right?  We have “young people” today who not only were not alive when it occurred but there’s a proportion of them that don’t believe it ever happened…just like The Holocaust didn’t either.  How do events occur, are heavily documented and then denied, by people who should know better, but don’t?   When you come to the end of this column you should understand that the 20-to-50-year-old people NOW, will be the ones running this country in the next few decades, and if that doesn’t scare you, it should!

Almost a year ago now, in May of 2019, Fox News reported that an Attorney for the families says that despite repeated efforts, the Department of Justice has refused to release redacted portions of FBI transcripts that could allegedly implicate a Saudi government official!  Wow, who would have thought that a Saudi might have been involved in the horrific event of that day?  All those that DID think they were complicit raise your hands.  You can’t see it, but I raised BOTH of mine.

Saudi Arabia, in my not-so-humble opinion has ALWAYS played both sides of the street in its international dealings.   Back in the 1950’s they nationalized all the oil-producing equipment and companies and became ARAMCO, that being the first step in their holding the world hostage for oil.  Not really how a true friend acts when they should have been cooperating all along.

Going back a bit further, to August of 2018, we find that even FBI agents who worked on the investigation are coming forward to expose an alleged conspiracy between the CIA and Saudi Arabia.  What’s this?  Our intelligence agency is holding something back, from one of our OTHER intelligence agencies?  By the way, did you know that there are SEVENTEEN separate intelligence groups in our Federal Government?  Do you suppose that, from time to time, there might be a duplication of efforts?  Could it be that the various agencies don’t even talk to each other…ever?

One FBI agent, Mark Rossini, was quoted as saying, “It is patently evident the [9/11] attacks did not need to happen and there has been no justice.”  Another FBI agent, Ali Soufan was heard to say, “It’s horrible. We still don’t know what happened,” he was assigned to a counterterrorism unit who was also kept in the dark about the movement of the future 9/11 hijackers.  FBI agents claim CIA deliberately blocked them from informing their headquarters about future Al-Qaeda plotters present in the United States in 2000 and again in the summer of 2001.

How’s that, you say?  Are we to understand that top CIA officials, including director George Tenet, had withheld crucial information from the FBI about Al-Qaeda’s plotting and movements, including the arrival in the U.S. of future hijackers Khalid al-Mihdhar and Nawaf al-Hazmi, and that September 11, 2001’s events could have been prevented?

According to Newsweek, Pat D’Amuro, an even more senior former FBI counterterrorism official, said, “There’s no doubt in my mind that [withholding the information] went up further in the agency” than those managers. “And why they didn’t send it over, to this day, I don’t know why.”  While we may never know why the CIA covered up this information, we do know the result of their actions—2,900 dead Americans and thousands of others injured.

In September of 2019 the Bloomfield Baptist Church, in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, Pastor Donald McKay made news.  He is a self-described “proud Islamophobe.” He has made posts about the dangers of Islam on social media and held other events in the past that have been called hateful.  It’s not hateful when the things that you’re saying, are true…is it?  I don’t think so, but obviously the local CAIR honcho, Nada al-Hanooti, Executive Director Emgage Michigan, had a differing opinion.  She says she fears the pastor will inspire an attack on Muslims, but to the best of my knowledge there haven’t been any mass attacks on Muslims in the United States.  That’s not to say that many Americans probably harbor “ill thoughts” about Muslims, and I’d have to count myself among them.  I have a mantra that expresses my thoughts on Islam and Muslims: “There is NOTHING worthwhile in Islam, and I wouldn’t trust ANY Muslim as far as I could throw a Buick.”   Because McKay spoke the truth about Islam, the Muslim community claimed he was a terrorist. Buuushwah!

Lastly, but not the parting shot, in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, it is apparently not a good thing to remember 9-11.  A bronze plaque, in memory of the events of that day, was ordered to be removed, or the city will begin fining the owners of the sign, located in a park, up to $500, and I’m guessing that’s a daily fine too.  The plaque was covered under a section of the sign enforcement code and 9-11 was specifically mentioned as part of the ordinance covering “obsolete” signage.  Wait…what?  9-11 is now obsolete?  America, what is going on with you?  Is your aggregate memory failing you?  Pearl Harbor, World War Two, the Korean and Vietnam wars, the Desert Storm wars, all gone from your collective memories?

Parting shot: Look around, folks, and see who, and what, will be running America in the next few decades.  Do you understand what it is you’re seeing?
