• Loopy: Today’s Leftists Demented by These Three Modern Syndromes

One of the week’s most popular …

Surge Summary: How to account for the deranged behavior of so many on the Left nowadays? It’s pretty easy when one acknowledges the warping affect of obsessive Donald Trump-hatred and  fixation on all-things pro-abortion and pro-LGBTQ.

If I recall correctly, it was late commentator Charles Krauthammer who coined the phrase “Bush Derangement Syndrome”: diagnosing those deprived of the ability to analyze, speak and function rationally because of their hostility toward the forty-third president.

Not that many years later, that clever quip has been tweaked to “Trump Derangement Syndrome” (TDS): a comparable malady — actually an even more fiercely acute one — fired up by wolfish hatred for the current White House occupant.

Now, take the latter condition and stir in a dash of “Abortion Derangement Syndrome” (ADS) and pinch of “LGBTQ Derangement Syndrome” (LGBTQDS), and what’s the end-product? We’re seeing it erupting all around us on a nearly daily basis in widespread reactions to current developments.

When announcements broke of the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and in the days following, social media subjected viewers to a flood of distraughtwomen videos — specifically, those sobbingly, screamingly, irrationally and/or profanely lamenting the Leftist icon’s passing. These screechingly unsettling spectacles weren’t flattering to these ladies (major understatement!). They made them appear stupid; demented; unable to control themselves. A sensible observer might justifiably ask: Why would anyone willingly, visibly showcase herself on the world wide web behaving like that?

Yet, that’s exactly what they did; and the explanation actually isn’t all that elusive: TDS plus ADS plus LGBTQDS leads to mental and emotional incoherence. Period.

How else to account for Mazie Hirono?  During day number two of last week’s Confirmation Hearings for Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett, the routinely daft Senator from Hawaii — affecting an all-business tone and visage — asked the forty-eight-year-old, devout Roman Catholic mother of seven, “Since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors or committed any verbal or physical harassment or assault of a sexual nature?”

That doozy was followed up with, “Have you ever faced discipline or entered into a settlement related to this kind of conduct?”

Feel free to take a deep breath and collect yourself …

A week preceding this congressionally supplied enormity, columnist William Murchison wrote, “I predict Senate critics are not going to nail [Coney Barrett] on unverified, shady accusations that, as a teenager, she harassed male fellow students — that tactic having already been tried and failed against Brett Kavanaugh.”

Well. Murchison is a reliably perceptive opinionator, but he flatly missed it on this one. Ms. Hirono, turns out, darkly hinted at something pretty close to the slur regarding youthful misbehaviors alleged against the beleaguered Judge Kavanaugh. Murchison, it seems, underestimated the unprincipled depravity of at least one member of the Democratic caucus.

Interested parties with a functioning prefrontal cortex and working familiarity with Coney Barrett’s history, will be pleased, and not at all surprised, to know the appellate court jurist responded to both pseudo-accusations with an icy, “No Senator.”

One wonders why Hirono’s grilling along these lines stopped where it did? What about Coney Barret’s potential involvement with cooking and dealing meth? (We wouldn’t want an Associate Justice Walter White in a skirt serving on the High Court!) Had she ever tried to run-down any old ladies trying to cross the street? Set any orphanages on fire? Drowned any kittens?

Unless Hirono had access to some smoldering, yet-to-be-revealed information about Amy Coney Barrett … Sexual Harasser!!! — which apparently she did not — what rationale could the Hawaiian Honorable have had for going full Kavanaugh on this distinguished, acclaimed nominee?

Point of fact, there was no rationale for this nationally televised obscenity. Sen Mazie Hirono has become decidedly ir-rationale, thanks to her rabid animus toward the forty-fifth occupant of the White House, yoked with her enthusiasm for legally murdering unwanted babies and celebrating all things “gay”/trans-gender. The warning of National Review‘s Rich Lowry applies: This is “what happens when you let your outrage do your thinking for you.” Hirono’s heart-stopping exhibit of disrespect toward Amy Coney Barret merely confirms: the lady some detractors refer to as “Crazy Mazie” has got the TDS/ADS/LGBTQDS pathology; and got it bad.

Days later, and not far up the Acela corridor from Washington, an anti-Trump Boston gathering featured a man writhing and cavorting mischievously around a burning American flag, effigy of the president and MAGA hat. He additionally grabbed hold of what appeared to be a human heart, tore it apart and dribbled its blood on his face.

Per rt.com/usa, civilized types can take some comfort that, “it’s unclear whether it was a prop or a real heart.” So that’s a load off.

I don’t know much else about this prancing character, but anyone else agree with me it’s close to a slam dunk that “abortion rights” and the whole salad of rainbow-flag issues figure high up on his political priority list? That’d be a safe bet.

Bugged out RBG fangirls? Cracked Mazie Hirono? A manic Beantown demonstrator? All likely suffering, alas, from roughly the same disorder: TDS + ADS + LGBTQDS.

Our president ought never be above criticism. Indeed, he deserves a sizable share of it. But these unhinged radicals aren’t doing our nation — or their causes — any favors. And their sickness is spreading.
