Surge Summary:  For over a decade, the same man has earned the number one spot in Gallup’s “Most Admired Man” poll. This year it was – startlingly — someone else. (Hint: If you’re hoping that would be the current “President Elect”, you’re probably going to be disappointed.)

Every year since 1946, Gallup has asked Americans to name the man they most admire.  For the past 12 years, it has been Barack Obama.  This year, America’s most admired man is President Donald Trump.

But what about Joe Biden?  He finished a distant third, behind his old boss Obama.  I find the result of this popularity contest interesting, given how popular the media seem to believe Joe Biden is.

One would think the media’s anointed savior of the country could do better than third place in Gallup’s survey of the most admired men in America.  But apparently not.
