Surge Summary: Suddenly, conservatives find themselves in the position of “the resistance”. A community in Indiana models one responsible for approach to pushing back against Leftist encroachment; an honorable and practical way to resist and fight to save America.
by John DeGroff
Now it’s our turn to use the word “resistance” endlessly. Really, it’s our turn. We had to endure four years of sham Schiff show impeachments, a fake dossier, RussiaRussiaRussia, and an aging stripper named Stormi. We heard “resist” all the time.
What’s really telling, though, is that during Hussein Obama’s eight-year reign of treachery, while we fought when we needed to, we didn’t make a public scream-at-the-sky spectacle of ourselves. That’s what they did for four years. Now it’s definitely our turn to put the heat on them. After all, Democrat “unity” means surrender.
Of course real American deplorables are not going to surrender. But I also feel that most of us don’t want to resort to the type of resistance that turns violent. That would be the absolute, bottom of the barrel measure of last resort. In reality, it certainly wouldn’t end well for them. No, I rather feel that a coordinated backlash against our new overlords will prove we’re serious without having to start a shooting American Civil War 2.0.
Case in point is the community where I live: Warsaw, Indiana. I’ve written two previous articles about my adopted home. Back in June and again in October we organized what we called The Patriots Freedom Rally. Both rallies were well attended and were excellent examples of the People’s “right to peaceably assemble.”
Warsaw is located in Kosciusko County and our local county commissioners have drafted an ordinance making this a Constitutional Rights Sanctuary County, as of December12, 2020.
The idea for this was started by Mr. Scott Metcalf. He was influenced by the 2A rallies being held throughout the country to protect the right to keep and bear arms. Metcalf ran the idea of starting a similar movement to County Commissioner Brad Jackson. After some discussion, it was decided to expand it to include all the Constitutional Amendments, at both national and state level. That’s what lead to the development of the Constitutional Rights Protection Act.
The actual name of the ordinance is The Protection of Rights Under the Constitution. The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department also issued a proclamation in support of Constitutional Rights.
The Ordinance and Sheriff’s Department proclamation should not be confused with faulty immigration policies that have allowed sanctuary cities which refuse to enforce federal law.
In part the Ordinance says that the County Commissioners “…maintains a strong commitment to all the rights of the people in the county as stated in the Constitution…including but not limited to, the declaration of emergencies, including…the COVID 19 pandemic…”
Also, in part, it “…opposes the adoption of laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, restrictions and other governmental documents of legal force that unlawfully infringe upon the rights secured by said Constitutions.”
Specifically, the resolution refers to the First, Second, Fourth and Tenth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. It also quotes Sections 1-3, 6-9, 18-20 and 24 of Article One of the Constitution of the State of Indiana.
After declaring the county a Constitutional Rights Sanctuary County, the Commissioners went on to encourage and request all agencies, departments and offices of the county to continue to uphold their oaths not to infringe on the rights and liberties of the all county residents.
This is what I mean by “backlash”. In this case, it’s a legal framework based upon the existing constitutional provisions and rights provided both nationally and at state level. Of course, the reality is that you can write and even pass any law, resolution, regulation, ordinance, whatever…. but it only exists on the books. It has no validity until it’s put to the test by either a practical, real world application or in the courts. Supposedly, in our case, that’s why the local Sheriff’s Department got on board, to give the ordinance some proverbial teeth. Regardless, I do believe this offers a framework of protection and a sort of template for other communities to enact similar ordinances. If a small community of 20K residents in north central Indiana can stand up to the Dems and even our RINO Governor Eric Holcomb, there’s no reason others can’t at least start the process.
For that matter, I’ve seen reports that Texas is even considering leaving the union. While I’ve written that it might be time for a national divorce, I don’t think we’re there…yet. Let’s start with protecting where we live, our local communities, before we tear everything apart. Now, more than ever before, pray for God guidance and protection.

ANOTHER VICTIM OF THE PANDEMIC
My wife Jennifer comes from Peru, Indiana. Peru is unique in that it has a circus tradition that dates back to the early part of the last century. Prior to COVID, Peru hosted an annual youth circus every summer, as well as one of the country’s last traditional circus parades. My wife practically grew up in the circus, starting at age 5. She went on to be a professional high wire walker and unicyclist. She practically paid her way through college by performing in professional circus acts. Due to all the shutdowns and social distancing edicts, Peru was not able to host their circus this year. Needless to say, the financial strain on the local circus organization has been rough. A fund raising campaign is now underway to help save the local organization. Here’s a link for more information and to make a donation. Thank you in advance for your support.

SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION
For the last several months, I’ve been mentioning my upcoming album release. Well, “Salt 2: Trophy Hunting for Unicorns” is finally here. Along with myself and the cast of usual suspects from the last project, vocals are again by Petra’s John Schlitt, with some great guitar work by another former Petra member, Greg Hough. Shawn Browning, who is the owner/operator/ alpha dog of Rottweiler Records, also makes a vocal contribution. However, while it’s not really a problem, I have to tell you that physical CDs are not yet available. Once again, due to the Wuhan Flu, the duplicating plant my record label uses is months behind schedule. The project can be acquired through all major digital music outlets. If that’s the way you like to obtain your music, you’re in luck.
I have also renamed my Facebook music page. In order to reflect the proper artist name of the new project, my page is now called John DeGroff & Friends, but can still be found at www.facebook.com/DeGroffProjects. We have also started a merchandise page that will feature the new CD when available, along with some other projects I’ve played on throughout the years. There are also T-shirts available, and one really unique Petra related item. Please check out https://jdfsalt.bigcartel.com.
Also, please feel free to check out Rottweiler Records on Facebook. Thanks in advance for your support.
