    This is one of the greatest things I’ve seen in a long time. If you can’t watch this video’s entire three-plus minutes, view till about 1:25 then jump ahead to the three minute mark … and prepare yourself.

    Sometimes symbolism and respect for convention can be a cover for shallowness; a cheap, pro-forma substitute for meaningful action and commitment.

    Then there are those times when tradition and ritual serve to punch home something much more: those foundational truths that are most important.

    I think this incident, caught surreptitiously on home security camera, represents the latter.

    Lord, we pray: once again give us a nation full of people like this man, who love our nation and cherish those who’ve served.
