Surge Summary: The minority of Americans who recognize the potentially violent upheavals which beckon their nation need to begin speaking up — right now! – or they might find their grimmest concerns coming to pass. Someone has to sound the alarm – too many are oblivious to what the future might hold for America.

The Brandenburg v. Ohio U.S. Supreme Court decision maintains that seditious speech—including speech that constitutes an incitement to violence—is protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution as long as it does not indicate an “imminent” threat.  Sedition is overt conduct, such as speech and organization, that tends toward rebellion against the established order. Sedition often includes subversion of a constitution and incitement of discontent toward, or insurrection against, established authority. Sedition may include any commotion, though not aimed at direct and open violence against the laws.

The Declaration of Independence says that we not only have the right but we also have the duty to alter or abolish any government that does not secure our unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  Given that the U.S. was formed by settlers who threw off British government rule, there is also an historic precedent for overthrowing the government.  Rochester Institute of Technology Professor Sarah Burns explains that the message of the Declaration of Independence is that we – as a free people – have the right to stand up to an oppressive government.  This was – and in many cases still is – a radical idea. But it is based on the philosophy that people have rights that no government can grant or deny.          If this be sedition, let’s make the most of it.

In years gone by I was a Democrat.  In the words of Ronald Reagan, “I didn’t leave the party, the party left me.”  It was becoming more and more clear that the party to which I belonged was going down a path that was not going to work for me.  Then, when Hussein announced he was going to “fundamentally transform” America, the fog cleared and the revealed picture was something that was completely foreign to most Americans at the time.  In the intervening years, however, the spoon-fed “young people” were buying into more and more of the leftist ideas.  Thus, we have come to the present where America may be (and I think she is) on the brink of a civil war while at the same time being poked by the Chinese.  That poking is not just militarily, it is economically as well.  We get WAY too much stuff from China and we should be cutting them out as a source of supply for anything.  America can invent, improve on, or supply just about anything it needs, so let’s get busy.

Probably one of my worst foibles is that quality of speaking from the mouth before the brain is engaged.  Therefore, some things that are uttered maybe crude or completely foreign to other people’s sensitivities.  Be that as it may, there ARE some times when what spews from my mouth DOES make sense, even though not enough people agree to make a difference.  That difference, that minority in this country needs to pay attention, much more than they are now.  If the recent election is any harbinger of things to come, Republicans are never going to win a major election ever again.  If you even suspect that it was a stolen election, that’s a point in your favor.  On the other hand, if you are not actively engaged, in some manner, to change that situation, your point just got negated.

If, in previous columns, you didn’t get the message, here it is in very plain language: the current administration is being heavy-handedly manipulated by China.  The pseudo President has NO interest in doing anything FOR America or its citizens, but will accommodate whatever is proposed that denigrates the United States.  Sooner or later, I believe, two things are going to happen to us.  First, a civil war.  Then, a war with China.  Both of these events, no matter which comes first, will have a huge impact on the continuing life of this nation.  Both are going to be extremely violent and both will surprise the hell out of “the young people” that are living in some dream world in which everything is free, and nobody says anything offensive to anyone else.

My advice, if you feel so inclined, is to learn Chinese…and I think Mandarin is the language of the government there and so, it’s the dialect for most of the Chinese.  Got a backbone?  Got some testicles?  Got the will to keep America from becoming a Chinese colony?  If you do, then start doing something.  You can write letters to the local paper, or try to get an interview on a local TV station, even writing your elected officials if you believe you will get anything more than lip service from them.

Parting shot: Once upon a time, so the stories go that parents tell their children when it’s bedtime…there was this beautiful land that stretched from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean.  It was explored and populated by people who braved the unknown to build a country like the world had never seen before.  A land where the people ran the government and where the citizens were armed against a potential tyrannical ruling class.  Once there were men and women who went to war, some never coming back, to protect the people and country that were dear to them.  Has that wonderful land, that dream, gone away…to be replaced by a foreign government ruling over us?  Are we never to be that free a people again?
