Surge Summary: Parents have the role of making health care decisions for their children – not public schools. School-based health clinics are a bad idea. So Why is Ohio advancing them?

    by Linda Harvey

School-based health clinics are the rotten fruit of “social emotional learning” and the newest grab of authority over our children.

What is Ohio Governor Mike DeWine thinking? Let’s just hand out condoms to all sixth graders?? Families have had enough medical manipulation in our lives.

Many think these clinics help low income or minority families. But no matter the income or status of the family, parents are fully able to make health care decisions for their children and they should be encouraged to do so themselves— not ceding these critical decisions over to the highly questionable government schools.

What will clinics at school bring? More gender confusion counseling behind parents’ back, more referrals to Planned Parenthood, more counseling on sexuality, more quick and shallow mental health evaluations during the school day without parent involvement. What could go wrong?

Lots of things. And parents won’t know until tragedy strikes in the lives of their children.
